Carina makes the longlist for the 2017 Bristol Short Story Prize.

I first met the lovely Carina Swantee online on a Faber Academy course. We finally met in person last Easter. We drank coffee by a sandy Greek beach while we discussed writerly things and our shared love of the Mani region of Greece.

I was delighted to hear Carina's story, Private View, has been longlisted for the tenth Bristol Short Story Prize.

Carina's achievement is all the more remarkable because English is not her first language. I am keeping everything crossed for her when the short list is announced on 26th July.
